We have publicly demonstrated this commitment
by undertaking the Excellence Model
and Investors in People, and we are
working to continually maintain this
high standard of training and development.
Umbrella staff receives an annual Personal
Development Review (appraisal) from
their line manager. At this meeting
their work objectives are agreed or
reviewed, and their development needs
assessed.
All Umbrella staff are given access
to Umbrella’s own internal training
plan that covers over 90 individual
training courses covering over 30 different
topics.
Training in Umbrella not only means
short courses or qualification training
(NVQs). It also includes workshops and
seminars, job shadowing, mentoring,
secondments and coaching. All employees
are encouraged to take responsibility
for their own learning, to share their
learning, and help create opportunities
for others to learn.
Equal Opportunities
Umbrella is committed to ensuring that
all or actual employees or service users
are treated equally, regardless of:
age; disability; family commitments;
marital status; race; age; colour; ethnicity;
nationality; religion or belief; gender;
sexual orientation; trade union activity;
health status or unrelated criminal
convictions.
To achieve this Umbrella will ensure
that the terms of relevant legislation
are properly applied and that the terms
and recommendations of the associated
procedures are implemented positively
and put into practice throughout Umbrella.
All Umbrella employees are required
to follow and implement Umbrella’s
policies and to undergo any training
associated with this. |
